2C-B Pills Maybach Mixed Colour 20mg

First made in 1974 by Alexander Shulgin, working outward from the mescaline structure, 2C-B was a legal substance for several years. Throughout the 1980s and into the 1990s, several companies made and sold 2C-B under names like Nexus, Erox and Performax, claiming that it would increase libido. During this time, MDMA was sold as a recreational drug, but was scheduled by the United States in 1985. The DEA proposed control of 2C-B in December of 1994, but the classification as a Schedule I drug was made permanent on 2 July of 1995.

2C-B is available as a cheap pill that can be purchased at clubs and festivals. The Dutch organization DIMS tested 19,109 samples in 2023. Of these samples, 5.8% were sold as 2C-B at an average price of 4.40 euro for each pill of 2C-B. Half of the pills were priced between 4 and 5 euro. Each pill contained on average 10 milligrams of 2C-B, but was advertised as containing 20mg. Of the samples of pills containing 2C-B, 11% were found to also contain another adulterant alongside the 2C-B; these substances were mostly caffeine with some containing ketamine. Powder sold under the names of tusi or pink cocaine contains ketamine, MDMA and another substance, but no 2C-B at all despite their names.

Maybach is a stamp, not a formula. It indicates which batch of pills the seller is moving, but it guarantees nothing about the contents of a pill or whether two pills from the same bag will contain the same contents. In December 2023, DIMS issued a Red Alert for a beige-golden pill stamped Audi containing over 300mg of MDMA on average. This is the kind of thing that a familiar press name can turn out to hold. Different colours within one bag indicate that the pills were produced across several runs, not that they are better.

2C-B trips tend to be shorter than either LSD or psilocybin, lasting between 4 and 6 hours. The effects of 2C-B include visual effects, heightened touch and a stimulant edge. Users report that the two main reasons for choosing it are the shorter duration and the milder disruption to thinking.

The pharmacist's contribution to potential interactions with 2C-B includes MAOIs. However, other classes of medications that increase serotonin within the body will also interact with 2C-B as it is itself serotonergic. Examples include SSRIs, SNRIs, lithium and tramadol, as well as medications like stimulants that have the additional effect of increasing heart rate and blood pressure.
