Amphetamine is produced as a salt that comes out of the process wet. Paste is that material before it has been dried into a free flowing powder. It still contains the solvent and water used in the preparation. It is not a different drug and it is not a different preparation of the drug. It is simply the drug at an earlier point in the process.
Why the water matters more than anything else here
The only thing a buyer can measure is weight, and in paste a share of that weight is liquid. Two grams of paste is not the same as two grams of powder, and the difference between them is not fixed. It depends on how far along the process the amphetamine was taken before it was sold.
How it reaches the market
Speed of both kinds made up 5.2% of everything submitted to DIMS in 2023, at an average price of 9.30 euro a gram. Half of the samples cost between 5 and 10 euro.
The advantages people report
DIMS names increased energy, delayed fatigue and appetite suppression for amphetamine in any form. The EU Drugs Agency adds that confidence and sociability increase after taking it, with the effects beginning within about thirty minutes of an oral dose.

Common questions
Is paste stronger than powder?
It is the wrong question, because strength here is a ratio rather than a property. Paste can hold more amphetamine per gram than a heavily cut powder, or less than a clean one. What is certain is that part of its weight is liquid, so weighing it tells you less than weighing a dry solid would.
Why is it sold wet at all?
Drying is a step in the preparation of the product. Skipping it saves time while losing nothing that the seller is paid for. Paste is the product before anyone has finished making it.
Does paste mean it is uncut?
No. Nothing about the physical state prevents substances being mixed in, and the Dutch figures for 2023 name caffeine as the most frequent adulterant in speed. The liquid conceals an added powder better than a dry material would, not worse.
